the Book Club

(These pages are edited by Tom. Please get in touch with me if you have suggestions about books or about how I’ve arranged the pages.)

Ellie started the Book Club. She’s a great reader.

Some of us hadn’t read a book for years, but she’s got us all reading now.

This is my cousin Peter reading to his friends

Each time the Book Club meets, we talk about books on a particular topic.

Ellie’s very pleased that I’ve offered to tidy up all the Book Club books.

There was the meeting when they all read books about pachyderms.

Then we discussed books about bears.

I’m embarrassed by this screenshot.

It was my first Zoom meeting, and I had dressed up smartly, but I hadn’t realised that everyone would see the mess in my house.

These days, I’m more careful to sit in front of a nice background, hopefully looking a bit intellectual.

I missed the meeting about lighthouses, because I was asleep after my first experimental bicycle ride.

We had a good meeting about books on pancakes.

and at the next one we’ll be discussing books about France. Teddy’s idea.

  1. A book recommendation from Down Under. Since Lopsy enjoyed the bear scene in ‘Winter’s Tale’ so much, we think she’d enjoy ‘Bertie and the Bear’ by Pamela Allen. It certainly gives the discerning reader a lot to think about. The author is Australian. Do you have it in the UK?
Tom: It used to be in print here, but it’s not any more. And it’s not in our library. But when I’m allowed out again, I’ll look for a second-hand copy for Lopsy.
