books about pancakes

Acorns and Stew, by Ruth Orbach, recommended by Ruffy

Blueberry Pancakes Forever, by Angelica Banks

Ivashka and the Witch, by M. Bulatov. Walrus has a book of Russian fairy tales, and this is one of the stories.

Ivashka was captured by a Witch, but he escaped, and some swans flew him home and dropped him in the attic of his house. From the attic, he could hear his grandmother serving out pancakes, saying “One for you, grandfather, and one for me. One for you, and one for me.” Ivashka shouted out “What about me?” and eventually they heard him and went up to fetch him down and they all ate pancakes happily ever after.

Lottie and Lisa, by Erich Kästner. When Lottie pretends to be her sister Lisa, she has to pretend to like stuffed pancakes, and is expected to eat a LOT of them. I wouldn’t mind that, myself. Not suitable for under-eighteens for non-pancake reasons.
