Tom’s not very well
14th June 2022
I had a happy dream.
It was about those sunny long-ago days when I was young and fluffy, and someone loved me best of all.
But then it all turned terrible.
A baby was chasing me, wanting to pull off my arms and legs.
I woke up sweating, with my heart hammering away.
And now I’m tired, but I can’t sleep. I’m all achey, and I can’t get comfortable.
It’s probably my own fault for not doing enough yoga.
I suppose this is what it’s like to be very old. I think I’ll just rest for a while.
Help help! A tiger!
Ding-dong!
Oh dear.
everyone’s being nice to Tom

Lopsy! Lopsy? Could you get me a drink of water?
Oh, I thought my friend Lopsy was here.
But I suppose she couldn’t stay for ever, waiting on me paw and paw.
I should get up and get myself a drink.
But the tap is a very long way away.
Oh, what’s that noise? It’s rattling my ears.
It sounds like a bugle. That will be Bimbo.
Bimbo! Are you there?
Of course he can’t hear me.
His ears are big, but they’re old and woolly.
And didn’t Lopsy say that I’ve got The Virus?
So nobody should visit me, specially not Bimbo. I believe you can get The Virus more than once, and he’s definitely vulnerable.
Stay away, Bimbo!
I suppose he came to play beautiful music to cheer me up.
That’s kind of him.
Now I’m all on my own.
It’s very quiet.
I’m thirsty.
I’ll just have another nap, and then I’ll get up and go and get some water.
Oh oh oh
What’s that crashing?
Ah. I think it’s more beautiful music.
It sounds like Jenny’s drum.
Jenny? Jenny?
I think that’s nearly enough music for one day.
I’d better go and get myself some water. I know it’s the sensible thing to do.
But first I’ll have to sit up. And after that, I’ll have to move my feet.
Knock knock knock!
Ring-ring. Ring-ring.
Ah. John Cage.
This is the best kind of music. It hardly hurts my head at all.
