in and on the microwave
16th October 2022
Do you know, I think I really am better.
It’s the first time for weeks and weeks that I’ve woken up in the morning with plenty of energy, and too many plans to fit into the day.
Better get up and dressed.
It was wonderful to see Um and the Baby. I need to find a way to keep up the connection. I can’t let them disappear over the horizon again.
I thought perhaps I could Zoom with them, now that they can both talk.
Maybe the Baby would like me to read it a story.
It showed an interest in railways.
I’ll ask Ellie if we can discuss books about trains at our next Book Club meeting.
That will give me ideas for what to read to it.
Of course I’d love it if they lived next door. Then the Baby could just pop round to listen to a story, and cause a bit of chaos.
But it’s no good wishing for the impossible.
I’ll have a hunt for my little tin train, so that I’ve got it ready for next time the Baby visits.
I wonder where it’s got to?
I must get back to practising my triangle. What must Bimbo be thinking? He’s longing to get the whole Zoom Ensemble playing together, and we still haven’t managed it.
No time like the present!
Oh dear, my arms are tired. It’s hard work heaving the triangle up into playing position.
I wonder if I can still achieve a sound that’s at all silvery.
I’ll play scales first. Scales are quite easy on a triangle. I’ll aim at mackerel. I believe they have silvery scales, with rainbow touches, as well as beautiful stripes.
And now for some actual music.
I’ll play an old favourite.
Such a hopeful song. But oh dear, I am out of practice.
I should really be practising my Welsh next, but I’m tired out after all that tinging.
I feel completely exhausted.
I hope I’m not having a relapse.
DING-DONG!
Oh, she’s gone. I meant to ask her if there was any news of Ruffy.
Even before I caught The Virus, I’d slacked in my efforts to find him, and that’s something I must get back to.
Poor Ruffy, languishing in prison, thinking that his friends have forgotten him.
Well, I’ll eat Teddy’s macaroni. I am quite hungry.
That’s strange. It tastes of soap. I suppose it’s been too close to that soap box.
I wonder where I put the key for that watch?
