Bimbo has been organising this.
It isn’t really an Ensemble yet, because we haven’t assembled it, but we’re all practising hard and now that Bimbo is getting better (he had The Virus last summer, and he’s taken a while to get back to his old self), he’s working on how we can all play together.
Here are some of the Ensemble players, with their instruments.
Tom playing the triangle:
Here’s Kimbleton the Knitted Tardigrade on the t’rung, playing a piece by Saint-Saens with the cuckoos from the cuckoo clock:
This is Didcot with his flootatoota:
Here’s Dillion playing the harp that Tom sent him from Wales:
This is Ruffy playing a tango by Matyas Seiber. It’s meant for the piano, but there isn’t much music composed for musical box.
Cousin Peter playing his penny whistle:
Snowy on panpipes:
Points feels a special affinity with the ocarina, but she doesn’t have quite enough hands to cover all the holes.
Teddy on his spoonophone. He also plays the squashophone, which you can hear further down the page.
Jenny playing the drum:
Bimbo playing his bugle (before he got ill):
Lopsy playing the harmonica:
Sylvie playing the frog:
Ellie playing gymnastically on the piano, inspired by Chico Marx:
Strawberry grows her own maracas:
Gibbs playing the recorder. He’s missing his morris dancing.
Anna playing the singing bowl:
This isn’t part of the Ensemble, but Lopsy wanted you to hear how high she could sing when she was a choir-tiger long ago.
This is the choir that Lopsy used to sing with:
Shamus is practising jigs.
Here’s Teddy on his squashophone:
We played some festive midwinter music around Christmas time. You can listen to it here:
v enjoyable

Hello Kerry!

hiyer
I hope Bimbo will get better in time for the ensemble. Maybe you can put it on the internet to cheer people up about the Coronavirus.🐻🐘🐅🐷🦔
But will it really cheer people up? Most of us are not very good players, and I don’t know if any of us know how to glue the different bits together. I’ll go and work on my triangle right now. I’ve found a better beater. The egg-whisk didn’t work very well.
an ensemble of the highest quality
I’ve worked out how to make an ensemble: if you just click all the arrows in quick succession everyone plays at the same time. It sounds very dramatic. I think maybe all the tunes are so beautiful on their own it’s better to listen to them one by one.
Walrus
I’m hoping to harness the drama, but Zoom coordination isn’t going to be easy.
How enormously enjoyable! How clever you are! And a lovely sense of humour – and musical too!
thank you thank you!
I’m in seventh heaven, I do so love the zoom ensemble! I tried to rate the pieces in order of preference but I couldn’t decide which would not come first. Anyway it might have offended someone if they didn’t come first. You are all so clever, thank you! Walrus
